Raipur | January 25: Senior IPS officer Shashi Mohan Singh, a 2012-batch officer of the Chhattisgarh cadre, has been conferred the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service on the eve of Republic Day, in recognition of his exemplary contribution to law enforcement and public safety. The decorated officer was transferred to Raigarh just two days ago as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and is yet to formally take charge.

His campaign against substance abuse through Operation Aaghat targeted addiction and drug peddling networks, reinforcing community-oriented and preventive policing.Recognised for his firm yet people-centric approach, operational discipline, and results on the ground, the national honour is being viewed as a moment of pride for both Jashpur and Raigarh, as well as for the Chhattisgarh Police.
