Raigarh Police Continue Crackdown: Sex Racket Busted in Shiva Nagar, Two Arrested — Second Action in 24 Hours

Raigarh | February 4, 2026 In a major crackdown on immoral activities, the Raigarh Police, led by CSP Mayank Mishra, busted a flesh trade racket operating out of a residential building in the Shiva Nagar area. The operation, conducted late Tuesday night, resulted in the arrest of two key operators and the rescue of women brought from outside the district.

The OperationFollowing a tip-off received by SSP Shashi Mohan Singh, a strategic raid was planned near the SBI Main Branch (Kewdabadi). To ensure the success of the raid under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act (PITA), the police deployed a “pointer” (decoy customer) to the location.Once the signal was received from the decoy, the police team, under the leadership of CSP Mishra and Kotwali Police Station In-charge Sukhnandan Patel, surrounded the house and conducted a surprise search.

Arrests and SeizuresDuring the raid, the police apprehended the main accused, identified as Rahul Kumar Yadav, and his female accomplice. Two other women, who were allegedly brought to the location for the trade, were also found on the premises.The following items were seized from the spot:Cash: ₹2,000 in currency notes.Electronic Evidence: Two mobile phones (Redmi and Vivo).Material Evidence: Various incriminating materials used in the trade.

The accused, Rahul Kumar Yadav (26), a native of Allahabad (U.P.) currently residing in Raigarh, has been booked under Sections 3, 4, and 5 of the PITA Act (Crime No. 40/2026) and sent to judicial remand.Zero Tolerance Policy: SSP’s Stern WarningThis raid comes within 24 hours of a similar action in the Chakradharnagar area, signaling an aggressive stance by the district police.”There is a zero-tolerance policy against gambling, illegal liquor, flesh trade, and scrap mafias in Raigarh,” stated SSP Shashi Mohan Singh.

“Anyone attempting to profit from social evils will face the harshest legal consequences. I urge citizens to report such illegal activities fearlessly; the police will ensure swift and decisive action.”The Team InvolvedThe successful operation was carried out under the guidance of ASP Anil Soni and ASP (Cyber) Anil Vishwakarma. The raiding team included Inspector Sukhnandan Patel, SI A.K. Dewangan, ASI Koso Singh, and several constables including Rajshri Vaishnav and Manoj Patnaik.
