Raigarh Police Bust Sex Racket; SSP Shashi Mohan Singh: “Illegal Trade Will Not Be Tolerated”

In a major crackdown on immoral activities, the Raigarh Police, under the direct supervision of SSP Shashi Mohan Singh, busted a prostitution racket operating out of a rented house in the Kelo Vihar colony late last night. Two individuals have been arrested and booked under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act (PITA).

The OperationThe raid was orchestrated by CSP Mayank Mishra following a tip-off from a reliable informant. Reports suggested that a tenant, identified as Dimpy alias Rahul Ijardar, was bringing women from outside the district to run a flesh trade operation in a house owned by Santosh Soni.To verify the information, the police sent a “pointer” (decoy customer) to the location. Once the deal was confirmed and the signal given, a joint team from the Chakradharnagar Police Station and the Cyber Cell swooped in, cordoning off the premises.Arrests and SeizuresDuring the raid, the police found three women, the decoy customer,

the main accused (Rahul Ijardar), and another man identified as Nagendra Vishwakarma.The investigation revealed that:Rahul Ijardar acted as the manager and pimp, lured women with money, and used the rented house for illegal activities to earn a living.Nagendra Vishwakarma was present at the spot to facilitate/engage in the trade.Police seized several mobile phones, the cash used by the decoy customer, and other incriminating materials from the scene.

Accused DetailsThe arrested individuals are:Dimpy alias Rahul Ijardar (40): Resident of Kelo Vihar, Raigarh.Nagendra Vishwakarma (35): Resident of Ganesh Chowk, Kotra Road, Raigarh.A case has been registered at Chakradharnagar Police Station (Crime No. 32/2026) under Sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.

SSP’s Warning Reflecting on the successful operation, SSP Shashi Mohan Singh issued a stern warning:”No immoral activities will be tolerated within the district. We are committed to taking the strictest possible action against anyone involved in such organized crime.”The operation involved key contributions from Additional SP (Cyber) Anil Vishwakarma, Sub-Inspector Gendlal Sahu, and several officers from the Cyber and Chakradharnagar teams.
